Meena Singh is an award winning cinematographer from Chicago whose Indian-American upbringing draws her to stories that bridge communities and illustrate our shared humanity. Her work spans critically celebrated festival films — including Sundance NEXT Innovator Award nominee The Tuba Thieves and SXSW selection Mother's Little Helpers — and projects that have reached global audiences. Wedding Season debuted at No. 4 on Netflix's most-watched list with an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, and The Confession Tapes became a Netflix docuseries phenomenon.
Recently, Meena shot 2nd unit on the hit sci-fi series 3 Body Problem S2, and lensed the Showtime pilot Seasoned — a half-hour comedy fictionalizing the delightfully tumultuous relationship of Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody — which premiered at Tribeca in 2025.
Early in her career, Meena shot additional photography on the Oscar-winning Twenty Feet from Stardom amongst other documentaries, sharpening her instinct for shaping natural light and capturing spontaneous beauty — an approach she brings to her narrative work with restraint and intention. Her work on Hollidaysburg was praised by The Hollywood Reporter — "the film looks terrific, with Meena Singh's cinematography making excellent use of the atmospheric locations" — and by Roboapocalypse for her "dark, rich cinematography and quietly beautiful shot composition."
A graduate of the AFI Conservatory and Columbia College Chicago, Meena is also a founding member of Driftseed, a nonprofit empowering women and girls through documentary film. She lives in Los Angeles and loves to travel.
